The Start of an Amazing Story...
Hello There,
My name is Conner and I am 17 years old. I am constantly thinking of new ideas, some of which turn into reality. For example, I have made iPhone apps when I was 11 and started a website to raise money to send close to 300 soccer balls to Guatemala. Everything I do starts out as a simple thought and I continue to work on that idea until it is brought to life.
My family is adopting a little girl with Down syndrome from Albania! Pretty cool, right? The cooler part is that I have 9 siblings already: 5 adopted and 4 biological. My 2 oldest siblings were adopted from NJ, my 9 year old brother is from Guatemala, and my 2 youngest brothers were adopted from China. And now we are adopting a little girl from Albania. There is so much that I could tell you about my family. But, I want to save that for the film. So here's the deal: most of my family (10 out of the 12 of us) will be traveling to Albania for 2 months to pick up my soon to be sister. Another awesome thing is that my grandmother is from Albania. She came to the States when she was 7 and has never been back to Albania. She speaks Albanian and may even travel with us. It's going to be a trip like no other! Well, this whole adoption is going to be crazy because most people don't just do this kind of thing. I have been filming this whole adoption process from things like paper work to doctors appointments that are necessary for the adoption. My plan is to film everything before, during, and after traveling to pick up my sister. I will be capturing everything in 4K film from an iPhone. This film will be unlike any other adoption film. It's going to be a film about a big and crazy family that's adopting a little kiddo stuck in an orphanage, showing everything from broken hearts, to laughing about the dumbest things, to tears of joy. I have chosen to title this film "grafted" because my little sister will be grafted into our family just like God has grafted all believers into his family. According to Webster's 1828 Dictionary Graft:" to join one thing to another so as to receive support from it." My little sister will be joined forever to our family and we will love and protect, support and encourage her with all of her gifts, talents and delays. Romans 11:23 "And if they do not persist in unbelief, they will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again."
This film will be an in depth look at adoption, love, Down syndrome, and what it looks like to be truly blessed. If this sounds remotely interesting then you'll be sure to love this film.
